Yao Guang Zhai, an Idyllwild Arts Academy student,
will perform at the Crystal Cathedral on the "Hour of Power"
with Dr. Robert Schuller on Sunday, May 23 in the 9:30 and 11:00 am service.
Idyllwild Arts Academy faculty and alum Vivian Fan will accompany Yao
Guang. The show will be broadcast
nationally the following Sunday, May 30. Yao Guang Zhai is a sophomore at Idyllwild Arts Academy
in Idyllwild, California. A native
of Tai Yuan, Shan Xi, China, he began his musical education at the age
of three with the violin. At ten years of age he changed instruments and
began to study the clarinet. He
was accepted at the Beijing Central Conservatory and studied there with
Yuan Fu Huang. Yao Guang is in his first year at Idyllwild
Arts Academy in Idyllwild, California and studies with Yehuda Gilad. Recently, he won first place in the Classical
Instrumental category at the prestigious Spotlight Competition at the
